Basketball to Baptism

This is Mechee, he is one of our basketball boys. He took the lessons and committed to be baptised. We didn't even know that he was taking the lessons until the Sister Missionaries told us that Mechee had asked if we could attend his baptism. He's a bright young boy. You can see he is holding his Book of Mormon which he received as a baptismal gift. He left basketball that afternoon holding the book with great happiness. He brings it to church with him every Sunday. He lives in the Ward next to ours. Thank you to everyone for the basketballs. (Benches)

That is so great! He is precious. What miracles can come of something as simple as teaching basketball. His whole life will be changed because of this decision--I can already see him in a few years on a mission of his own. Amazing.
I can't wait to see what miracles come of the Friday night dance lessons!!! :D

Oh, and who does that nice blue truck belong to??? Is that the one you guys drive? No wonder people/police stop you!
And who is the boy in the brown shirt? His brother?

Ben, you've set a great example for this youngster. I know he loves you for your desire to work with him and others in teaching them how to play basketball and being a missionary with high standards. He's looked up to you and followed what you represent.
