It's a good life

Our Ariel Mutombo (Thierry & Natalies) Miracle Baby. 1.4 Kilos at birth, born July 8, 2 months early, now 3 months old and weighs a whopping 4 Kilos!! I have had to wait a long time to have the opportunity to hold this little guy. He is healthy and doing very well. Thanks to all for the prayers for the Mutombo family.
The Mutombo family

When we came to visit, Blessing and Jason had songs and ready to perform. They were so excited. The traffic was just like it is in Kinshasa....terrible, so it was late by the time we got there, but they were ready to perform.

Our Office Staff along with Elder Ulisses Soares of the First Quorum of the Seventy
He came-He TAUGHT-He left. He blessed our lives.
This is Anthenese Ngandu. Elder Hatch is trying to teach him to run his own business. After 6 months, he had saved enough money for his first major business purchase...a MOTO. Yes, he delivers propane tanks to the missionaries apartments with his moto, he puts 3-20 kilo tanks on this at one time. Don't ask why, just know....Only in the Congo!!!
We spent another P-day with the Humanitarian Couple and visited a school where they were putting in Latrines.
Here is a classroom, actually this room was not being used, because it's roof was lacking.
But this classroom was filled up!
We also went to the "Waters of Mormon" a water capturing project.
Doing laundry...the only way they know how.
Climbing the Papaya tree for fresh fruit
UP and UP.....
Got it...THE REWARD!

Haha, I just wrote my comment and then looked at Boston's and realized I had pretty much said the same thing! So I'll just say dido to what Boston said!

So I think I'm confused about what a "latrine" is. Can someone explain? I am just not understanding how those bench-an-desk-looking-things can be used as bathrooms. haha. Matt has made his guesses but I am trying not to believe any of them. :)

Yes, it IS a good life. In the Congo, it's a very different life. But it is a good good life, and you guys are helping make it good for the people there. They love you and they love the word of God. His work is a miracle.

So jealous that you got to a humanitarian project and the Thierry's house, & held the baby while we were stuck in an airport. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Dixie!

I came upon your name on Natalie Norton's blog and it caught my eye because Dixie is the name that my husband and I have chosen to name our little girl who is due to come into our lives in January. We are naming her Dixie Ann. So I just wanted to reach out and say hi to another Dixie!
We too are LDS and it is great to come upon your blog and see the great service you are doing.
When our little Dixie arrives I will be sure to share pictures of her with you.

Your sister in the gospel,

Teresa Hill

You'll have a lot to talk about when you get home. We'll be anxious to hear it all. There's good people all over the world. It's nice to get to know them.
